Liebe Freunde Kubas:

Fraternalmente,

Dear friends of Cuba:
The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and its Travel Agency Amistur Cuba S.A. have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 64th Contingent of the Nordic Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba, which will take place from December 14th, 2022 until January 2nd, 2023, devoted to commemorate 170 anniversary of the birth of Cuban National Hero José Martí and 64 of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
The main objective of this program is to share with friends one more anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, providing them a greater knowledge of the reality our people live nowadays and the social achievements gotten. The program of activities is aimed to serve as a bridge of friendship to all those interested in having a more objective vision of Cuba, in contrast to the one spread by the campaigns organized by the mass media, with the purpose of invalidating the results that have been achieved.
The program includes visits to places of historical, economic, cultural and social interest, lectures on current national issues and meetings with organizations of the Cuban society and the people in general, among other activities. It also includes recreational activities, screening of Cuban films, dance classes, productive agricultural work and other solidarity events. This will offer you the possibility of getting closer to the idiosyncrasy of our people and to understand even more the reasons that sustain and maintain our revolutionary project.
Participants will be able to witness a Cuba that, after two years of facing the pandemic and intensified economic, commercial and financial blockade, has managed to be the first country in the Latin American region to immunize its population against Covid-19 with its own vaccines. During your stay you will be able to enjoy a healthy and safe socio-political tourism, learn about our history and culture, security in our streets, natural landscapes and ecological destinations. All of these, along with the human, cheerful and friendly warmth of the Cuban people, will make your experience an unforgettable one.
The program will take place in the provinces Artemisa, Havana, Mayabeque and Villa Clara; 20 nights of staying, 16 of them in the International Camp „Julio Antonio Mella“ (CIJAM), located in the Caimito municipality, 45 km away from Havana and 4 nights in Villa Clara, well known for its rich history and wide cultural movement.
The whole stay will cost 695.00 USD per brigade member, whenever total number is more than 40 people. If the total number of brigade members is in the range of 20 to 40 participants, the cost of the program would increase and would be 865.00 USD. If the minimum number of 20 participants is not reached, the cost would increase even more and the program would not be considered as a brigade. In this last case, it would be up to ICAP to decide if the program should be carried out. Briefly, the cost to be paid per brigade member will depend on the total number of participants, which we will inform after November 6th, 2022 which is the deadline for inscriptions.
| Number of participants | Cost of the program in USD |
| More than 40 | 695.00 |
| 20 – 40 | 865.00 |
In both cases, the cost includes lodging (in shared rooms for up to 4 people at CIJAM), double or triple rooms in Santa Clara, three meals daily, transfer in–out from the airport and transportation to all the activities planned in the program.
The payment method is through bank transference or online-payment gateway. It cannot be in USD due to the restrictions for the use of such a currency imposed by the USA blockade to Cuba. However, prices are estimated in that currency because generally exchange rate fluctuates less than in any other currencies.
In spite of the fact that it is not mandatory the use of face-masks at present, it is recommended to bring them to be used in crowded or poorly ventilated places. It is an essential condition to travel with medical insurance that has coverage in Cuba. Brigade members who arrive at CIJAM before December 13th, 2022, must pay an additional supplement of 16.00 USD per night, for accommodation and meals.
Agricultural work will be carried out in areas surrounding the Camp, created in 1972, which has adequate conditions to satisfy collective life as well as needs of people who visit us from different parts of the world. With the assistance, the brigade member agrees to comply with the indicated program and to properly observe the rules of conduct, discipline and social coexistence, as well as follow hygienic-sanitary measures.
Registration will be open until November 6th, 2022. To confirm your participation, we request that you send to the emails: and the following information: name and surnames, passport number, age, date of birth, profession, languages spoken, country of origin, organization you represent, date, time and number of the arrival flight to Cuba as well as date, time and departure flight. Participants who are in Havana before the start of the brigade will be guaranteed transportation to CIJAM, which will leave from ICAP headquarters on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.
We would like to have your presence and share with you what has usually been an unforgettable experience.
We wait for you!
Fraternally,
Elizabeth Ribalta Rubiera
