Hello compañeras und compañeros,
We propose two urgent actions to provide immediate political support to Cuba, as discussed at the recent European video conference.

1) Attached is a sample letter (which can be revised according to your own priorities if necessary) to be sent to the local US embassy (or consulate) or even delivered in person. Copies should be emailed to your own government and the EU.

2) Individual activists can hold one-hour vigils in front of US embassies or US consulates whenever they have time. Bring a Unblock Cuba poster and your own poster (e.g., with the slogan “ALARM: STOP US TERROR AND GENOCIDE AGAINST CUBA”). This will be noticed by the embassy and the public. Feel free to take selfies and share them.

3) IMPORTANT: Thursday, March 12, marks the 30th anniversary of the US Helms-Burton Act! Vigil should be held in front of US embassies or US consulates on that day. They don’t have to be large or elaborate. What is important are flags, banners, and posters (including Unblock Cuba).

Hola compañeras y compañeros,
Proponemos dos acciones urgentes para apoyar políticamente a Cuba, tal y como se acordó en la última videoconferencia europea.

1) Adjuntamos una carta modelo (que puede modificarse según sus propias prioridades) para enviar a la embajada (o consulado) estadounidense local, o incluso para entregar en mano. Se pueden enviar copias por correo electrónico a su propio gobierno y a la UE.

2) Los activistas individuales pueden organizar vigilias de una hora frente a las embajadas o consulados de EE. UU. cuando tengan tiempo. Con un cartel de «Desbloqueen a Cuba» y un cartel propio (por ejemplo, con el lema «ALERTA: DETENGAN EL TERRORISMO Y EL GENOCIDIO DE ES-TADOS UNIDOS CONTRA CUBA»). Esto llamará la atención de la embajada y del público. No duden en hacer selfis y difundirlos.

3) IMPORTANTE: ¡El jueves 12 de marzo se cumple el 30.º aniversario de la Ley Helms-Burton de EE. UU.! Ese día se llevarán a cabo vigilias frente a las embajadas o consulados de EE. UU. No es necesario que sean grandes ni costosas. Lo importante son las banderas, las pancartas y los carteles (incluido «Unblock Cuba»).

Para estas actividades se pueden utilizar frases del borrador de texto adjunto.

Hola compañeras und compañeros,
wir schlagen zwei dringende Aktionen zur akuten politischen Unterstützung Cubas vor, wie es bei der jüngsten europäischen Videokonferenz angesprochen worden ist.

1) Anbei ein Musterbrief, der (bei Bedarf gemäß Deiner/eurer eigenen Prioritäten überarbeitet werden kann) an die lokale US-Botschaft (oder Konsulat) zu senden oder sogar persönlich zu übergeben ist. Kopien können an Deine/eure eigene Regierung sowie die EU gemailt werden.

2) Einzelne Aktivisten können individuell – wann immer sie Zeit haben – einstündige Mahnwachen vor US-Botschaften oder US-Konsulaten abhalten. Mit einem Unblock Cuba-Poster und einem eigenen Poster (z.B. Motto „ALARM: STOPP US-TERROR UND GENOZID GEGEN CUBA“). Das wird in der Botschaft und von der Öffentlichkeit wahrgenommen. Gerne Selfies machen und verbreiten.

3) WICHTIG: Am Donnerstag, 12. März, jährt sich das Helms-Burton-Gesetz der USA zum 30ten mal!! Dann sollen Mahnwachen vor US-Botschaften oder US-Konsulaten abgehalten werden. Sie müssen nicht groß und aufwändig sein. Wichtig sind Fahnen, Transparente und Poster (inkl. Unblock Cuba).

Für diese Aktivitäten können Sätze aus dem beigefügten Textentwurf genutzt werden.
